Located in the historic district of Longueuil (a southern suburb of Montreal) the "Maison de prière Notre-Dame" was opened to the public in 1996 as the House of the People of God. We call it affectionately the House of Mary because we wish to greet each person who comes, as Mary would, so that everyone feels like part of our family.

Our team

Working as a team, we are 8 sisters who chose to live the mystery of the Visitation specific to the Congregation of Notre Dame. We want our house to be an oasis of silence and peace, a place for spiritual renewal, growth in faith, to celebrate God in prayer and adoration.

Our Activities

Eucharistic celebration                                                                             The Chapel

Daily Eucharist, Lauds, Vespers and Compline

Time for silent prayer

Spiritual renewal and retreat programs

24 hours of silence for high school students

Possibility of meeting a member of the team for advice and support

Personal retreats for one or several days.

Words of thanks

"Here, I found peace of mind."
"Everybody feels at home here."
"I wanted to thank you for the 24 hours of silence. It helped me regain my taste for life."
"One can feel that God is present everywhere in the house. Silence, freedom and your warm welcome helped me."
