Every year at the beginning of November, the Canadian federal Cabinet sets the planned total number of incoming refugees and immigrants for the coming year. Our government is making these decisions now, and it’s important for citizens to communicate our perspectives. Many of us have experienced amazing blessings through our connections with refugees – we know that in the process of sponsorship, strangers become neighbours and cherished members of our communities. Let's join our voices with the Centre for Public Dialogue and Citizens for Public Justice and the Canadian Council of Refugees by urging our MP's to encourage generous settlement levels and continued government efforts to reduce wait times in the refugee sponsorship system. It's easy. Go to http://p2a.co/Ln7odB7 and fill out the form.
“The Congrégation de Notre-Dame salutes the Priests of Saint-Sulpice of
Montreal, who provided their unflagging support over the centuries
before ceding the Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel
to the Congregation in 2014.
This historic chapel is a Roman Catholic pilgrimage site that the
Congregation’s sainted founder, Marguerite Bourgeoys, dedicated to
the Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in the mid-17th century.
This plaque was unveiled on September 20, 2017, the anniversary of the birth of
Jean-Jacques Olier, founder of the Society of the Priests of Saint-Sulpice.
It marks the 360th anniversary of the arrival of the first Sulpician missionaries in Montreal
and the 375th anniversary of the founding of the Society, in Paris.”

From Our Leadership Team:
Our leadership team meeting on October 13-14 was marked with sadness and joy as Dorothy O’Brien passed gently into eternal life. She seems to have given us her blessing, since we were able to address in some way all three of the goals we set ourselves for the next four years (as well as celebrating Mary Anne Powers’ birthday!).
