ALMY STREET CELEBRATES (Illinois)
January 12, 2000, the 300th anniversary of the entrance
of Marguerite Bourgeoys into heaven, was celebrated at the CND residence
on Almy Street in Providence.
The gathering bore the look of a new millennium - young and old,
sisters and associates, men and women. Sisters from Warwick, Meader
Street, and Eileen Good came; Sister Dolores Hanlon, who is hospitalized
was very much present to us. In a typical CND fashion we used the
gathering to have a short planning meeting for our Providence presentation
by Roberta Nobleman. We are ready to open another show!
Adapting the prayer service received from the Community, we gazed
upon the face of the first CND in her portrait, in each other and in the
needs of the whole world. Kathleen Deignans Mission song flowed
throughout the prayer time, focussing us in mission to gather Christs
blood scattered around our fragile world.
Finally, we got to eat. Good food. CNDS are great cooks. And so we
ate and visited and ate and visited. We like each other!
