Lucille Teasdale Award for 1999 Given to an Associate
The Radisson Community Centre is the result of an initiative of the Lucie Bruneau Re-Education Centre to improve the quality of life of young handicapped adults between 18 and 50 years of age, by enabling them to participate in different activities and to form friendships with their peers. Many volunteers help the handicapped persons carry out their projects.
The Centre is in the Mercier district of Montreal, where the Olivier-Guimond CLSC is located. On November 11, 1999 the Centre paid tribute to Ms. Mary Munroe, a C.N.D. associate, by giving her the Lucille Teasdale Award for 1999, together with another candidate, Jeannine Cournoyer who does exceptional work with the older persons at Rameau dOlivier.
Ms. Munroe was chosen for her ability to brighten the daily life of the young people of the Radisson Community Centre. Through her constancy and her attentive ear, she is a model in this International Year of Older Persons.
The associates and sisters of the C.N.D. of Notre Dame and Marguerite Bourgeoys Provinces are delighted about this well-deserved tribute and offer sincere congratulations to Ms. Mary Munroe.
