Middle East Day was a remarkably harmonious affair
at Marianopolis College yesterday. Seen checking out a Declaration
of Commonality were (from left) Vicken Kanadjian of Marianopolis
Armenian Club, Andrea Heckler of Marianopolis Hillel Society, Lumpy
of Town and Country petting zoo and Ghassan Zakhour of Marianopolis
Arab Student Association. The day was the first celebration of
Middle East culture at the college and the declaration was to
"put religious and ethnic differences aside" in favour of
social interaction between students who "share common interest
and purposes."
DECLARATION OF COMMONALITY
In recognition of our similarities, we the undersigned have
chosen this special day to celebrate our Middle Eastern Culture.
We have decided to put religious and ethnic differences aside
and interact socially as a group of students who share common
interests and purposes.
