Catholic League chooses CND
as first woman advisor

Edmonton, Alberta.
Sister Mary Lou Cranston, C.N.D. becomes the first and
only woman in Canada to be appointed as diocesan spiritual advisor
by the Catholic League of Women. "I accepted this invitation,
says Mary Lou, because I believe that this is yet another wonderful
model for women in the Catholic Church of the 21st
century."Mary Lou is a bio-ethician; she is director of the
St. Joseph’s College Ethics Centre on the University of Alberta
campus; her work includes doing research, being on-call consultant
for Catholic health care facilities and giving public lectures. |
