Mr.
Yoshito Omori is presently overseeing the construction of a pavilion
dedicated to Marguerite Bourgeoys on the campus of the teaching
institution run by C.N.D. Sisters in Fukushima, Japan.
Last summer, Mr. Omori visited Troyes, the birthplace of
Marguerite Bourgeoys, and brought back to Japan earth and pieces of old
stones. Previously, he had received from Montreal stones taken from
Maison St-Gabriel and from Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel.
Upon his return from Troyes, he had the original idea of grinding
the material from Montreal and Troyes to powder and mixing it with
Japanese soil to make tiles that will decorate the exterior wall of the
pavilion under construction in Fukushima.
