"A Church which fails to include in its structure the idea of the equality of all the baptized maintains paradoxical views about human dignity and is not faithful to the message it announces to the whole of humanity."1

WHO WE ARE

Created in 1982 and led by its President, Sister Raymonde Jauvin, C.N.D., Women and Ministries works for the improvement of women’s condition in the Church.

An autonomous network of committed women in the Church,
Women and Ministries wants to be:

a place of solidarity, sharing, enrichment and celebration
a place to deepen reflection
a place where we learn to speak with one voice

OUR  OBJECTIVES
  • To work for the recognition of the ministries exercised by women in a dynamic and missionary Church;
  • To discover and deepen the theological and pastoral insight revealed by women's service within the Church;
  • To work with women and men interested in the objectives of the Women and Ministries Network.
OUR  ACTIONS

"Turning Point 2000, the search for liberating alternatives"
Since 1999, we have been working on a vast project which seeks:

  • To mobilize women in the Church in order to discover alternatives to discrimination against them;

  • To create strategies to eliminate poverty and violence towards women in the Church.

"Without the real contribution of women, human society and even the kingdom of God would achieve neither their perfection nor their plenitude, and men would be unfaithful to the intention of God for them ."2
