Mission

The Women's Centre of Montréal is one of the oldest and most active women's centres in Canada. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women help themselves toward greater autonomy and self-esteem through:

  • educational and vocational training, information, counseling and referral services.
  • communicating women's concerns to the public and acting as a catalyst for change regarding women's issues.

Mrs Johanne Bélisle,
Executive Director.

Our programs:

With our staff of 50 and more than 300 volunteers, we are tuned in to women’s specific needs, such as:

  • Vocational counseling and job placement in traditional and non-traditional fields;
  • Job training;
  • Services to newly arrived immigrant women and their families, and a twinning program;
  • Legal information, psychosocial counseling and a court accompaniment service;
  • Affordable educational programs;
  • Self-help and support groups for incest survivors and victims of violence;
  • Collective kitchens;
  • Emergency food and clothing assistance;
  • Christmas baskets.

Every woman who comes to the Women’s Centre of Montreal is sure to find a willing ear,
