THE MARGUERITE BOURGEOYS
 CULTURAL CENTRE
In Troyes

38 Georges Clémenceau Street,
10 000 Troyes, France

The mission of the "Marguerite Bourgeoys Cultural Centre" is to foster greater knowledge of the life and personality of Marguerite Bourgeoys. This influential centre which bears witness to the daily life of a woman of the XVII century from Troyes, is also a place to discover the work that Marguerite Bourgeoys carried on with children, youth and families. And why wouldn’t this life, so filled with accomplishments, be a model, an inspiration for all ages?... To meet the goal proposed at its foundation, the Centre offers religious and cultural activities.

Daily, the oratory opens its doors to welcome persons who wish to pray in silence in its peace and beauty. In addition, the first Wednesday of each month, a Mass is celebrated at 6:30 p.m., and Vespers are sung or recited every Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

Each month, a cultural activity highlights an anniversary, a celebration or an important event, either with a conference, a round table discussion or by viewing slides and videos.

There are activities adapted for children and adolescents of the elementary and secondary schools. Evenings of reflection are made available to youth. Guided tours "In the Footsteps of Marguerite Bourgeoys in Troyes" are always offered for those who wish to get to know Marguerite Bourgeoys and the place where she was born.

The ideal of the "Marguerite Bourgeoys Cultural Centre" is to pursue the work of education with children, youth and families following the example of Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys, and to do so without distinction between rich or poor. Persons who are suffering or who are in need of a listening ear receive a sympathetic welcome.
