... CULTURE OF PEACE...
Sister Patricia McCarthy, CND, leads workshops, missions and retreats on non-violence.

In proclaiming the year 2000 as the International Year for the Culture of Peace, the United Nations General Assembly defined a culture of peace as the "(...) values, attitudes and behaviours that reflect and inspire social interaction and sharing based on the principles of freedom, justice and democracy, human rights, tolerance and solidarity (...)". This is a long-term process that will be continued during the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the World (2001-2010).

Sister Patricia’s text has been inspired by the culture of peace and non-violence that characterizes her social commitment.
