- Where we are . . .
The French-speaking among us live and work primarily
- in Québec
- in the Acadian regions of the Maritimes
- and some in Ontario or the Western provinces.
You'll find many of us in the vicinity of Montréal,
Québec or Sherbrooke, but not only there: Why don't you come and visit us in Hull or
Joliette? Natashquan or Caraquet or the Îles-de-la-Madeleine?
As for those of us who are English-speaking, we're
spread out all over Canada:
- throughout the Maritimes, in Nova Scotia, Prince
Edward Island, and New Brunswick;
- in the central provinces, especially in the areas of
Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal;
- in the West, in British Columbia and Alberta, and up
as far as the Yukon.
- In traveling throughout Canada, you may come on some
of us returning from Japan, Latin America, Africa or France; there are about 70 North
American sisters there, of whom about sixty are from Canada. They come back from time to
time to breathe their native air.
- ...and what we do
Like all CNDs everywhere and at all times, we have a
passion for education. However, over the years the scope of the needs to which we have
tried to respond has broadened. In the past, we concentrated on education in the schools.
Today, as we listen to the Spirit, we are convinced that God speaks in our hearts and also
in those we meet. And so we move out to persons and groups in other ways as well, to get
to know them, to be with them, to journey with them as they grow, to share their
experiences and commitments; we try to respond to their needs from a liberating
perspective. |

In our relationship with God and
in our ministry with God's people, we are sustained by prayer, our life together, and our
participation in community work. We're probably at our best when we come together to pray
and celebrate. Why don't you join us one of these days? |
