| In 1981, after an absence of more
than 300 years, Marguerite Bourgeoys returned to her native city of Troyes in the person
of several of her daughters in the CND. It was a real return to the source! A second
community in France was formed in 1989 in Estissac, 20 km. from Troyes, near the village
of Monsieur de Maisonneuve, co-founder of Montreal. At present nine CNDs from Quebec, in the various ministries we exercise in
France, live the experience of "Mary on mission." We go to
- children and young adults
- mothers and families
- elderly, sick and handicapped persons
- parish and diocesan councils
- other congregations of sisters.

We go out to other persons, but we
welcome them as well-- in their houses and at the Marguerite
Bourgeoys Cultural Center,
where sisters and volunteers are always ready to help you learn, reflect, visit, or pray
with us as you wish. Thus the CNDs of France are both Mary and Elizabeth, going out to
visit and welcoming; in this way we "walk in the footsteps of Marguerite Bourgeoys in
Troyes" both literally and figuratively. |
If you'd like to know us better,
please come to 10, rue de l'Isle or 38, rue Georges Clémenceau in Troyes; or 8, rue
Gambetta in Estissac.
