The CND presence in Japan dates from 1932 when five Canadian sisters first went to Fukushima City. Sixty-five years have passed since then.

At present the sisters number 88; 77 are Japanese sisters and eleven, Canadian. Associates number 23 (21 women and 2 men).

In Japan there are missions in Fukushima, Tokyo (Chofu), Nara (Tomigaoka), Kitakyushu City (Tobata). There are two communities in both Fukushima and Kitakyushu.
