In this relationship, the associate and the Congregation commit themselves
- to share with one another the spiritual legacy of Marguerite Bourgeoys
- to participate together in times of prayer,
celebration and spiritual enrichment
- to collaborate in the mission of the Congregation
according to the spirit of its mission
orientation.
Process for Becoming an Associate
- The prospective associate participates in a local orientation
program which includes discussions and reflection on Marguerite
Bourgeoys' special gifts, the spirituality of the Congregation of
Notre-Dame, and her/his own baptismal commitments.
- After a period of reflection and discernment, the person who
wishes to become an associate makes a written request to the local
Associate Relationship Committee.
- The newly accepted associate then makes a commitment during a
special celebration. The length of the first commitment is for one
year. Because of its flexible nature, the length of future commitments
is determined by the associate in collaboration with the local
Associate Relationship Committee.
