The First Visitation Province Associate Assembly, “On Fire for Mission”, saw 63 associates and sisters gather at the mother house in late May. The assembly began with a very beautiful and moving opening ritual. One could feel the love for St. Marguerite Borugeoys and the strong desire for carrying out the mission. Sisters Ona Bessette and Josephine Badali led the assembly through a process in which hearts were inflamed. The participants were also blessed to be able to celebrate a beautiful Eucharist at Bon Secours to renew their commitment and vows as associates and sisters, respectively.
Halifax Feast of the Visitation Celebration
Submitted by Halifax Associate Alexa Smith
On May 31st, Halifax area sisters and sssociates gathered at Visitation Centre to celebrate the Feast of Visitation. Sr. Mary led us in prayer and sharing as we reflected on our Journeys and Visitations over the past year. Sisters renewed their vows and associates our commitment. Sr. Maureen, Frankie and Alexa shared with the group some of their experiences from the Associate Assembly: On Fire for Mission, which they attended earlier in the month in Montreal. We ended the evening gathered around the table enjoying stories, friendship and refreshments all in the Spirit of Marguerite Bourgeoys!
Last weekend, Ottawa Associates, Bill and Jacqueline, lead us through a journey of discerning, learning and spiritual growth. The pace was excellent, with a well-coordinated team effort alternating from the imaginative art work with Jacquie where we could release the imagination through art and the gentle physical movements where “less is more” with Bill to reawaken an awareness of the nervous system and the possible regenerative neurons work that goes on in the body.
